Description

Coordination and substantive supervision of environmental work for energy projects, mainly wind power.

Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing support of the activities of the Environmental Assessment and Biodiversity and Surveys Teams
  • Increasing knowledge of renewable energy sources (RES), guidelines, relevant legislation, good environmental practice
  • Creation of field survey methodologies for the purpose of environmental impact assessment
  • Preparation of survey analysis inputs for Preliminary Environmental Analyses, Project Information Sheets and Environmental Impact Reports for wind farms and photovoltaic projects
  • Creation/consulting of Reports on monitorings and environmental inventories with main focus on birds and bats
  • Cooperartion with Field Partners and coordination of their work in dedicated projects
  • Participation in the environmental part of due diligence processes for wind farms and photovoltaic farms
  • Participation in research and development work
  • Cooperation with Chief Delivery Officer, Biodiversity Consultants, Environmental Cunsultants and GIS Analyst
  • Substantive support of the valuation and offering process
  • Carrying out independent tasks (drafting of letters, data searches, conceptual work)

Requirements:

  • Graduate in natural sciences or related disciplines
  • Proven minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position (assessing the impact of developments on birds and bats)
  • Proven minimum of 5 years’ experience in field work with a particular focus on wind projects
  • Proficient knowledge of the characteristics of national wildlife with particular emphasis on avifauna and chiropterofauna
  • Proficiency:
  • Laws of Nature Protection
  • Environmental Protection Law, Act on Providing Information on the Environment and its Protection, Public Participation in Environmental Protection and Environmental Impact Assessments.
  • Guidelines and sectoral practices at national and European level
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office programs
  • Analytical and team working skills
  • B driving licence
  • Spoken and written English at B2 level

Welcomed:

  • Degree or open doctorate
  • Scientific and/or popular science publications
  • Possession of or access to a detector with a recorder (ability to operate the device)
  • Ability to ananalyse chiropterological data acquired with handheld and/or tower detectors
  • Practical ability to operate GIS environment programs
