Ambiens acted as an independent environmental and social advisor (Independent Environmental and Social Lenders Advisor) in the financing process of the 390 MW BC-Wind offshore wind farm, developed by Ocean Winds. The scope of work included environmental and social due diligence, ongoing advisory support for the lenders, and the preparation of the Environmental & Social Action Plan (ESAP) framework.

The project financing was secured by a consortium of fifteen institutions, including the European Investment Bank, Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO), and several commercial banks. The involvement of such a broad group of lenders entailed a high level of compliance with international environmental and social standards.

BC-Wind is the second offshore wind project in which Ambiens supported financial institutions in a similar capacity, following our involvement in the first offshore wind investment in Poland to reach financial close. In both cases, Ambiens served as an independent environmental and social advisor, supporting due diligence processes and collaborating with a wide range of international lenders.

These engagements position Ambiens as the most experienced Polish advisory firm in the field of environmental and social compliance for offshore wind. As a company with a leading advisory role in its domain, Ambiens is among the key Polish contributors to the sector’s development. This reflects broader expectations for the participation of domestic companies in building offshore wind capabilities — particularly those providing highly specialised, knowledge-based services. Our unique track record in projects financed by international lending consortia distinguishes Ambiens in the regional market as well.

Our approach is always rooted in a thorough understanding of the project context and its specific conditions. We combine site-specific insight with structured standards and the evolving expectations of international financial institutions. As independent advisors, we focus on enabling dialogue between Sponsors and Lenders, supporting the search for tailored solutions that are best aligned with the realities of each investment – says Michał Kaczerowski, Ambiens Chief Executive Officer.

Our contribution to this shared success is the work of Ambiens’ team of experts under the leadership of Paulina Brzeska-Roszczyk, Ambiens Chief Delivery Officer, who coordinated the environmental and social workstreams on behalf of the Lenders.

We extend our congratulations to the Project and to the financial institutions and advisors involved on reaching this important milestone. It is a significant step for the Polish offshore wind market. We would also like to thank all parties for their trust and collaboration – with particular appreciation for the leadership and the ESG team, with whom we had the pleasure of working closely in recent months.
